This morning I managed to get out on the bike with my new Fuji Instax 210 Wide that I bought for work.

These aren’t great photos, I know, but I’m looking forward to riding in the mountains with this camera and seeing some instant prints while out in the middle of nowhere.

There are a few reasons why I live in Japan and the Awa Odori is one of them. I can’t imagine not being able to jump in the car and head west every summer. I miss it already. There are plenty of photos of the dancers dancing everywhere so here are a few of them mostly not dancing. And a friend wearing a sheep mask.

After returning from India I promised myself that I would try to see more of Japan, preferably by bicycle and with a camera. These are far from great shots – I have know idea how to take a good landscape – but it doesn’t matter. It’s the getting outdoors part that’s the most enjoyable.

I’m taking a week long trip to Shikoku next week to travel around both Kochi and Tokushima prefectures (I used to live in Tokushima) and to catch the wonderful Awa Odori for what I think will be my 5th time. I’ll be taking my Leicas, a huge Mamiya RB67 borrowed from Darren, and of course my bicycle(s).

I’m going to India again this weekend for two weeks. Old Delhi, Khajuraho, and then Allahabad to the Kumbha Mela – the worlds biggest festival and largest gathering of humanity on the planet at one time. 110 million over the whole festival and 40 million on one particular day. Apparently.

I’m still not sure what to expect there but from what I’ve seen so far it seems incredibly organised and well worth the trip.
